Olu Elegbe
Founder, Estara
Olu holds a Master's degree in business and commercial law from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. He began his career in the days of the 2008 financial crisis managing claims and compensations for victims of Payment Protection Insurance and helping organisations set up and manage compliance systems.
In Canada, he has extensive expertise consulting as a GRC business analyst who identified a specific and underserved gap in the Canadian compliance market: thousands of mid-market producers obligated under EPR regulations, facing penalties of up to $1,000,000 per violation, with no specialist firm built to serve them at the right scale.
The firm's model is drawn directly from the governance, risk and control frameworks used in regulated industries — where compliance is not a checkbox exercise but a structured programme with documented audit trails and defensible positions. Applied to EPR, this methodology produces compliance documentation that is designed to withstand regulatory scrutiny
Our commercial law foundation means we read regulations the way they are meant to be read — with attention to definition, scope, and the grey areas that affect real businesses. Our GRC background means we manage compliance systematically, not reactively.
Firm Philosophy
Compliance is a legal position, not a form.
Every compliance determination Estara issues is structured as a defensible legal opinion — not a template output. When RPRA asks why you reported what you reported, your answer is in a document that was written to answer that question.
The back-office is the product.
Our clients do not receive advice. They receive a functioning compliance back-office — data collected, reports submitted, records maintained, deadlines never missed. That is the service. The advice is what makes it possible.
Canada is enough.
We do not manage EPR obligations in 40 countries. We manage EPR obligations in Canada, with depth that generalist global firms cannot match. As Canadian EPR expands — new provinces, new materials, new verification requirements — we are here, specialised, and ready.
